Over the years, I patiently tracked down an original Mosselman twin-turbo setup, sourced the correct period components, and completed both the twin-turbo conversion and five-speed manual swap myself. My goal was never to build a modernized restomod, but to create the car as if Mosselman had built it during the golden age of European tuning.
The reaction from the Mercedes-Benz community has made all those years of work worthwhile. The project has earned praise from respected enthusiasts, including the team at CMS Motorsport. Jason Cammisa also drove the car and later described it as one of his favorite cars he had driven that year.
To me, this car represents much more than a restoration. It’s the result of over a decade of patience, research, and dedication to preserving a unique piece of Mercedes-Benz tuning history. I hope that by sharing it, more enthusiasts will discover the incredible work companies like Mosselman and Zender were doing long before factory-performance Mercedes became commonplace.
